This will mean that hundreds of thousands of parents will lose financial support worth approximately £1,000 a year towards their childcare costs.

UPDATE - the government has decided to retain
the tax relief for childcare vouchers, limiting it to the basic rate of
tax for all users. This will apply from April 2011. For more information
